Default ***Updated***My DBXL "RE" build project!

Had my DBXL for a week and screwed it up pretty badly running it into a retaining wall at full speed. Bad part is, there are a few weeks to go before some of the parts I need hit the States! Here is what I broke-

Fried the steering servo, replaced with Savox
Front bumper (back order)
Steering post, shaft that goes through the rack tensioner (back order)
Sway bar
Chassis top plate
Front chassis brace
Hinge pin brace
Steering drag link
Bent chassis
Bent drive shaft

I am tempted to buy another complete car, why not have a basher and a racer???

This will be a work in progress over time as I would like to use this as both a basher and a racer, I have 2 wheelsets to swap out and I also have a new set of 5ive shocks on the way to swap out for the track!

Being this thing is 8lbs lighter than the 5ive and has a low center of gravity I think it will be great on the track with the rite wheels/tires and shocks, and of course a good powerplant! Here is what I got so far.

The Bartolone pipe was swapped for the silenced version and I love it! Here are some parts I ordered along with the wheels & tires.

And what it will look like race day (until I get the 5ive shocks and body panels to paint), too bad I cant run it for a few weeks! Not sure I am more upset at myself or Losi for not having the damn parts yet???

More to come...

Chassis and a few other parts showed up. I needed a top chassis brace and FID sent me a clutch carrier instead (I don't support FID, they were the only ones who had some of the chassis parts in stock). I contacted them and they told me to keep the carrier "FREEBIE" and they will send me the brace. This was the first time I did a chassis swap on a large scale and it was time consuming but went fairly smooth. Now waiting on a couple other parts that are still a few weeks out according to Horizon. (Ignore the proline shocks, they are for my 1/10 scale)

Almost done!

Thanks, going a bit slower than I like but I should have my hands on another DBXL shortly to steal parts from. I can not wait for aftermarket to release clear body panels for this thing! I would love to see a more aggressive sharp edge body like what you see on the Axial Exo Terra!

Got it up and running again, thanks to OCBaja for making a key part I needed to get it going! The body was pretty beat so I decided to paint it with the only paint I know of that can withstand abuse and is flexible. Its an auto grade paint from SEM called Trim Black (SEM Paints (SEM39143) Trim Black)...Its an aerosol can used in body shops everywhere, the stuff sticks to anything and can take a beating. I sanded with a super fine paper, wiped it down with alcohol and sprayed. These pics were taken after a day at the track and several tumbles.
