Default Gyro Placement

I am swapping out the Spektrum gear for a Futaba PLS. I picked up a Futaba "Drift Gyro" and as wondering if there is a prime placement. The manual says just "perpendicular to the control axis". I wasn't sure if it would sense any better say on the center line toward the front or if location didn't matter at all as long as it was perpendicular to the control axis.

Thanks

It should detect movement at any location, I know my helicopters don't care about position as long as it is lined up with the rotation axis.

I doesn't matter where you install it. Their a pain to set up, need more gyro for slow speed, less for faster speed. Mine is sitting on the bench.

I tried a heli gyro on a truck at one point and removed it fairly quick. I had it dialed in pretty well but it felt odd to me in corners it was awesome for speed runs!

Yea, I am still trying to digest the gyro manual. The plan is to hook it up via S-Bus so I have remote gain at the radio. looks like you can select Inhibit, Normal, AVCS or use a switch to toggle between Normal and AVCS during operation at the radio. Something to play with I suppose.

I've had good luck with heli gyros in cars. They go a little ape in the air, but on the ground it's pretty fantastic, especially with extremely high powered cars that are squirrely to begin with.
