If you are referring to the new Spektrum DX5R then yes, it's a good choice

The spectrum has had a problem with kill switches but that was with the lower priced ones that didnít have the Ross button on them

I've had no range issues with my spectrum gear. My main truck has a DX4s and the backup has a DX3s both have SR3300t rxs

I only had the R models and I did not have any problem with them the only thing I can say negative about them is
There updates are mostly about selling new product
And that they stopped backward compatibility so your receivers if you have extra become useless and you have to by more

Ya, the whole no backwards compatibility thing is a drag. I'm still a bit ticked that I can't get anymore telemetry receivers that will work with my transmitters, and that I can't use the new lap timing system with them.

Appreciate the offer Nitrocat, but am considering the 5r for next season. The track I run at has no timing system so I'm quite interested in the new spektrum lap timing system so I can tell if I'm getting faster or slower as I change setups.

Yes I had a bunch of Futaba stuff and went to spectrum
Because it was free and when I started having to pay for the I did for years
But the last update did me in
I went back to Futaba
But I still have a case and receiver laying around
And a couple of min 8ís with them in them
